Skrillex:
EPs:
- artist: Skrillex
- album: My Name Is Skrillex
- rating: 7/10: "My Name Is Skrillex", the intro for "Fucking Die 2 (€€ Cooper mix)" was pretty good. "YOU CAN EAT SHIT AND FUCKING DI- DI- DI- DI-" i thought the beat going on "DIE" was good use of sampling. "Do da Oliphant" is only good for the intro, 0:00 to 0:15, the cute autotuned voice with the happy sounding chords sounds really good and i wish it was expanded further upon.
- artist: Skrillex
- album: Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites
- rating: 8/10: "Rock 'n' Roll" and "Kill EVERYBODY" and "All I Ask of You" are the best 3 tracks out of the whole album. i don't like the remixes tho. "All I Ask of You" is the only non dubstep one and just has a pluck.
- artist: Skrillex
- album: Bangarang
- rating: 3/10: maybe "The Devil's Den" and thats it, 1:46 is where it gets good.
deadmau5:
Mainstream Albums:
- artist: deadmau5
- album: Get Scraped
- rating: 8/10: "The Oshawa Connection", is fast paced, pretty good. "Careless", more of a emo type song, pretty good piano chords, and gutiar. "Unspecial Effects", has alot of sampling, at 0:54 the way the beat is chopped is really good. "I Forget", is another great song, espically when the bassline kicks in. "8bit", more of a upbeat well, 8bit song. "Edit Your Friends" is a good one, sadly i don't have any friends that would let me edit them. "Sometimes I Fall", pretty good use of sampaling, really like the part at 1:08.
- artist: deadmau5
- album: Vexillology
- rating: 4/10: "1981", "Dr Funkenstein", shares same beat as "1981'. "Lai" is only good for the auto panning sound that comes in at 2:50.
- artist: deadmau5
- album: Random Album Title (Unmixed Extended Versions) (mixed version counts aswell as ive heard both)
- rating: 10/10: "Slip", is really good, at 3:21 the part where the extra high hats and another loop comes in mixed with the off beat melody is amazing, then to seperate the more things being added in, theres a loud "DUNNA, DUNNA DUNNA" , espically the part where the viloin comes in halfway through and then the off beat melody comes in, the bass causes sidechaining with the viloin. "Alone with You" takes use of Delay and Reverb, 5:31 is my fav part in the song, in the mixed version, the transition from "Alone with You" to "I Remeber" gives me chills. "I Remember" is a AMAZING track (legit had 1,000 plays on it), the way the main chords have a low pass filter with reverb makes it sound like its far away, my fav part in the song is 5:00, the fill cutoff gets raised really high and the low pass filter gets lowered and it sounds amazing. "Faxing Berlin" is another good track, mostly the chord progression, espically the viloin thats in the background.
- artist: deadmau5
- album: For Lack of a Better Name (The Extended Mixes) (mixed version counts aswell as ive heard both)
- rating: 7/10: "FML", has that build up at 1:00 where you hear a orchestra, if only deadmau5 expanded more on that. "Moar Ghosts n Stuff" has a experimental feel to it. "Ghosts n Stuff" sounds more "skrillex" with the harsh bass, the organ chord is pretty good (fun fact the plugin used is B4 II and its preset 24). "Bot" gets good at 2:45 when the bassline comes in and then the piano. "Word Problems" has a really good bassline, espically at 6:08, but its mostly just serum and detuning it. "Strobe", entire track is good, 2:35 is "powerful" with the viloin. 5:30 is good when the fill cutoff gets raised and you hear those 4 tones that repeat.
- artist: deadmau5
- album: 4x4=12 (Unmixed) (mixed version counts aswell as ive heard both)
- rating: 6.5/10: "Some Chords", is amazing for being the first track, espically the bass line, can hear it clearly at 6:07. "Cthulu Sleeps" gets really good at 3:30, at 3:59, the gutiar bass kicks in and it gets even better. "Right This Second" entire track, just the entire track, the arp with delay, the choir at 1:48. the part at 5:20 where the choir comes back.
- artist: deadmau5
- album: < album title goes here <
- rating: 6/10: "Superliminal", is pretty much the same thing over and over, only fill cutoff really changes for the main chords, the part at 2:20 is pretty good. "The Veldt", song is based off a short story by the same name. song is upbeat unlike his other work, read the story. "Maths", plus 4 plus 4=12 12+12+12+12 is 4, overall track is good. "There Might Be Coffee", really like that synth sound at 0:30, 3:07 is where it gets good when that synth sound comes back. "Take Care Of The Proper Paperwork" it gets good at 3:05 when the ambient synth sound comes in, theres some light beats, but this is more of a ambient track. "Closer" and "October" sounds almost the same. "Sleepless", its a good downtempo track, good to listen to late at night. "Telemiscommunications" isn't that great, haven't listened to whole thing through xd.
