You know how you can create a network drive in windows, map it on another computer And access the drive via another machine? Well do you think it will work with a floppy? Lets find out.
This is the "test-bench" there are 2 computers, The one on the right that's running XP is the one that im creating network floppy drive on, other one on the left that's running 10 is one i wana access floppy on. Just don't look behind the desk... cable management isn't really my thing. (that drone back there is not mine)
We will call 10 machine "TSA-SERVER" (has dual xeon cpus) and XP machine "TSA-SFF" (stands for Small Form Factor) they are called TSA because they were originally used for TSA.
It would have been easy, if i could get the machines to talk to eachother via ethernet. Here is everything i did (so far) : The orange light is on (on TSA-SERVER), and the green light is blinking in a pattern. On TSA-SFF, theres just a solid orange light. We get a IP on TSA-SERVER But on TSA-SFF, nothing shows up. -- even tried pinging TSA-SERVER Even tried to connect to the network path (it has worked before) UPDATE: forgot to install ethernet drivers. this was written on 1/12/24.
simple. right? yes and no.
I have no idea how to fix this, I will have to work on this next week. will post update.
